The War is on, and recently-turned-16 year old Ken tries to enlist. Poor kidney function due to a terrible kidney infection when he was a child (no antibiotics back then!) cause him to be rejected from military service. The military would attempt to call up Ken several times, the last time when he was 29 years old! Ken was rejected every time!
